With over 20 years of experience in hospitals, clinics, and mobile labs, L. Thomas saw firsthand how many patients struggled to access lab services — especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. After being laid off from LabCorp for promoting her mobile phlebotomy idea, she didn’t quit — she built her business from the ground up.

Fueled by passion, resilience, and faith, she launched BizzyBee Mobile Phlebotomy, serving Baltimore and surrounding areas with professionalism, empathy, and dedication. From using rideshare platforms to fund her business, to earning multiple lab contracts and training future phlebotomists — she’s proof that hustle and heart can change lives.

At BizzyBee Mobile Phlebotomy, we take your safety and our staff's well-being seriously during every home or on-site visit. The following policy outlines what is expected during your appointment and what we are and are not responsible for as a mobile service provider.

✅ Patient & Home Safety Requirements

To ensure a smooth and safe blood draw experience:

• Collection area must be well-lit and clean — we recommend using the dining room or kitchen table when available.

• All pets must be secured or kept in a separate room during the visit to avoid distractions or potential injury.

• A responsible adult must be present for minors, elderly, or disabled patients during the procedure.

• Patients must provide valid government-issued ID and any necessary lab forms or test kits before collection begins.

🔒 Safety of Our Staff

• Our phlebotomists are trained professionals and have the right to refuse service if the environment is unsafe, unsanitary, or threatening in any way.

• BizzyBee Mobile staff will not remain in homes or facilities where there are aggressive animals, violence, substance use, or harassment present.

🚫 Limitations of Responsibility

BizzyBee Mobile Phlebotomy is responsible for:

• Proper specimen collection, handling, labeling, and transport to the designated lab or courier service.

However, we are not responsible for:

• Errors, delays, or mishandling once specimens are dropped off at a third-party laboratory (including LabCorp, Quest, or specialty labs).

• Laboratory test results, misdiagnoses, or inaccuracies that occur after collection.

• Lost or delayed shipping of home test kits when using postal or courier services (FedEx, UPS, USPS).

• Insurance claims, coverage issues, or lab billing disputes. Patients are encouraged to verify insurance coverage directly with the lab before testing.

Basic service documentation including:

• Date & time of draw

• Name of phlebotomist

• Type of collection (venipuncture, urine, DNA, etc.)

• Delivery method (hand-delivered or shipped)

…will be available upon request for insurance, reimbursement, or documentation purposes.

Q: Do I need a doctor’s order?
A: For most lab draws, yes. But we also offer general wellness panels and DNA tests without one.

Q: Can you come to my job or home?
A: Yes! We specialize in mobile draws at your convenience.

Q: How do I get my results?
A: Through your doctor, or directly via email/text for wellness panels.

Q: Does insurance cover this?
A: Not at this time. We are a private pay service.
